Deeds, Wills, etc from Bucks County, PA

These are documents that I have the photocopies of. These were found on our trip to Doylestown in the mid 1970's. We were not there long enough to get everything we needed out of that area, but tried to copy as much as we could about the surname Shellenberger. First was brought before the court on 4-9-1868. He left a widow.
This is a separate document not a page out of a book so no book or page is listed.

Between Hannah Shellenberger and Samuel Shultz who was administrator of Samuel Shellenberger's estate. Richard J. Linderman of Quakertown Township regarding a tract of land in Richland Township.
Samuel's personal property was insufficent to pay his debts.
9-14-1869 - 12-16-1868
Couldn't get buyers so will sell at auction.
Sold for $5,450

Land Description
Beginning at a stone in the middle of the Quakertown and Sellersville Turnpike road and extending thence by land of Simon Wambold south 77 degrees west 70 perches to a stone for a corner in a line of late John Sweeds land now William H. Kupps land thence along the same the two following courses and distances viz north 4 degrees west seventy perches and 7/10 to a corner and south 84 degrees and a quarter, etc.

4-5-1857
Between Tobias Fluck & Samuel M. Shellenberger administrators for Jacob L. Shellenberger late of the Township of Hillltown. Land containing 63 acres and 70 perches bought from Joseph Loetherman (?) 4-4-1840 recorded in Doylestown in Deed Book 65, page 93. Jacob Shellenberger died intestate leaving wife and four children. Heirs appeared in open court on 12-14-1857 and refused set valuation.

Decreed in Sept. 1857 that adms. Should sell premises. It was sold to Samuel Ceil (?) for $3,171.81 on 12-7-1857.

Legal Description:
Land is near Reformed Congregation, Edwin Wambold, Abraham Groft, Isaac Feldman, John L. Shellenberger, Jacob Savecool (?), Michael Savecool, Groff's Mill.
Another tract is by John Snyder, John Dirstine, Samuel M. Shellenberger, Abraham Clymey (?).

Mary Shellenberger was his widow

4-4-1825
Indenture between Michael Smith, tavernkeeper and Philip Schroyer, Tobacconist, both of Richland Township. Asignees in trust of Christian Smith & his wife Gertrude and Samuel Shellenberger of Rockhill Township.

Nathan Penrose & Jacob Smith adms. For John Smith of Richland. Deed of indenture made 6-3-1815 and recorded in Doylestown Deed Book 44, page 289 granted to Christian Smith did give to Michael Smith & Philip Schroyer, 80 perches of land recorded in miscellaneous book No. 4, Page 397.

Legal Description
Land is along road leading from Quakertown to Philadelphia, by land owned by Henry Hertzel, Heacocks Mill (Hancocks Mill?). It cost $675

Indenture between Samuel & Hannah Shellenberger of Richland to Francis Hartman for $600 - four lots of land situated in Richland & Rockhill.

LOT #3: in Rockhill next to Enos Peacock (?), late Anthony Amey, Aaron Ball.

Legal Description
Land was next to Bethlehem Road, Henry Stout, Isaac Cassal (?), Christian Kern
Henry & Barbara bought the land on 4-2-1805 which is recorded in Deed Book 33, Page 180.

Christian & Catharine Kern of Hamilton Township to Henry Shellenberger of Hilltown for 1,800 pounds of lawful money of PA. Land was in Hilltown Township

Legal Description
Land was next to road leading to Newtown, Henry Weisel, Adam Kern, Henry A. Stout, Isaac Cassel, Michael Dramer, Daniel Maryle (?) consisting of 135 ¾ acres

(This being the same land which Christian Kern & Mary, his wife by indenture on 3-29-1786 did grant to son, Philip Kern in Book 26, Page 139 who died intestate leaving widow Catherine, now married to Henry Houser & 3 children, Christian, John & Margaret.

Henry & Barbara bought the land in 3-8-1796 listed in Book 26, Page 91(?)

Conrad Shellenberger & Eve, his wife of the township of Hilltown to Abraham Wambold of Rockhill for 97 pounds and 10 shillings

Legal Description
Land next to Freman(?), Abraham Wambold, Richard Roberts, late George Egert "[It being the same tract of land which the Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by Patent dated 1-27-1790 did grant and confirm to Conrad Shellenberger in Fee as by the said Patent Recorded in the Rolls office for the State of Pennsylvania in Pat Book No. 16 Page 130.]"

No date given recorded, but we list as Book 28, Page 373 even though document 28 has 372 on top of it.

10-21-1821 - John Shellenberger will
Johns Shellenberger of the township of New Britain asks that 500 pounds be put upon interest that the interest be paid to his wife Elizabeth. His children are listed as:

Jacob Shellenberger
Rachel married to Michael Hetman
Samuel Shellenberger
Anna Shellenberger

Gives oldest son, John Shellenberger one silver dollar in addition to what he was given in his lifetime shall be his full share.

Has a family book where he keeps track of what ahs been advanced to each of his children. This amount is to be deducted from their share.

Executors were Jacob Shellenberger & Michael Hetman
Written June 1820
Recorded 9-28-1822 and is #4964

3-27-1899 - Hannah Shellenberger estate
In will gave clothes to daughter, Elizabeth, wife of John Smith
Gave $15 to Josiah Shellenberger, her son
Gave and bequeathed to the children of her LATE son Oliver Shellenberger $15.

All the rest is to be sold and divided between:

1 full share to Elizabeth, wife of John Smith
1 full share to Josiah Shellenberger
1 full share to the children of deceased son, Oliver Shellenberger

But during her lifetime she has advanced to Oliver Shellenberger the amount of $100 that is to be deducted from his portion.

We need to get other pages for this. It lists Tobias Fluck & Samuel M. Shellenberger, as Adm. There are many names and dollar amounts written on it. It has to do with estate settlement, but whose and what I don't know. Lists the following names like heirs:

Shellenberger, Trustee of Elizabeth Shellenberger, wife of said deceased dated 4-7-1834 & recorded in book no. 14 page 577"

"Whereas John Shellenberger and Margaret, his wife by heir indenture dated 3-16-1779 recorded in the office for recording Deeds in & for the County of Bucks in Deed Book G (?) Volume 1 Page 157 for the consideration therein mentioned granted and confirmed unto their son, Conrad Shellenberger etc."
Also talks about an agreement between John Shellenberger of Hatfield township, County of Philadelphia and John Benner of Hilltown where he gave approval for Benner to build a dam and have right of way over one of John Shellenberger's filed to take care of dam.
Paul Hatzel and Catherine, his wife in 6-4-1801 in Deed Book 31, Page 297 granted land to Conrad Shellenberger.
Benjamin Rossenberger and Margaret, his wife on 6-5-1813 in Deed Book 43 Page 506 granted to Conrad Shellenberger.
